Grendel opens with mixed reactions

June 11th, 2006, under , ,

One of the most interesting opera projects whose preparations I have been quietly following in the past half a year or so is Grendel, billed as one of the most ambitious works in the recent years. Why it has caught my attention is the story, which recounts the Beowulf story from Grendel’s point of view, something that I have myself been long wanting to explore.

As Yahoo! News now reports, the first shows in Los Angeles have received very mixed reactions.
