Raiders of the Lost Ark

July 7th, 2006, under , ,

National Geograhic reports that a team of arhaeologists have discovered “boat-shaped rocks” on Mount Suleiman in Iran. It is, of course, not the first (or probably the last) time someone claims to have found what you can call Ziusudra’s or Utnapishtim’s or Xisuthrus’s or Atrahasis’s or Noah’s or someone else’s boat / ark / general vessel to survive a number of days of rain.

One must, of course, bear in mind that as Eddie Izzard has pointed out, there is a large loophole in the whole flood story. ;)
